Descrizione

La dimensione della calotta varia tra 15 mm e 40 mm. La guglia striata è leggermente tubercolata. La spirale del corpo è granulare, striata verso la base. Il colore del guscio è bianco, marmorizzato con castagna o cioccolato, con file rotanti di macchie di castagno. Come tutte le specie del genere Conus, queste lumache sono predatorie e velenose. Sono capaci di "pungere" gli umani, quindi dovrebbero essere maneggiati con cura o evitati.

Diffusione

Questa specie è presente nell'Oceano Indiano al largo del Mozambico , nelle Seychelles e nel Bacino delle Mascarene e nell'Oceano Pacifico al largo di Giappone, Indonesia, Fiji e Australia.
